Community Lead, Shine
As a Community Lead at Shine, a mental health start-up, Kara creates opportunities for community members to feel less alone and practice self-care together. Kara has had a passion for building relationships and connecting people since she first learned to talk, and fell in love with community as a career while working as a Sorority Leadership Consultant in 2014.
She continued pursuing her passion as Program Manager of theSkimm’s brand ambassador community, where she managed the online community, led grassroots engagement and event strategy, and activated hundreds of thousands to vote in the 2018 midterm election.
Kara is on a mission to help people enrich their own lives and make an impact on others through their relationships with brands they believe in.

Shireen Idroos
Executive Director, Centre for Social Innovation
Shireen Idroos is the Executive Director of the Centre for Social Innovation in NYC, a nonprofit coworking space, community and launchpad for people who want to change the world. A longtime nonprofit manager and development professional, Shireen is driven by her belief in the power of people to affect positive change and her curiosity about each individual’s life story.
Before her role with the Centre for Social Innovation, Shireen spent 15 years in the nonprofit sector in education, health care, civil rights and women’s rights working at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the Children’s Health Fund, Her Justice, and the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
Staying at home during the spring of 2020 revealed her latent passion for jigsaw puzzles.

Tony Bacigalupo
Facilitator, emcee, keynote speaker, strategist
Since 2007, Tony Bacigalupo has been helping people find meaningful connections through facilitated gatherings, in-person and online.
Most recently, he co-produced a 600+ person full-day unconference in April 2020 as well as a 1,000 person 4-day online conference in April 2019.
He’s now working with clients to help produce online events and teaching workshops to show other people how to do the same.

Marcos Salazar (@marcossalazar) is a serial social entrepreneur, career coach, speaker, and community-builder. Marcos has worked in research and leadership development at the American Psychological Association, Girl Scouts, and the White House Project (promoting women to run for office). He is also the founder of two t-shirt companies, a number of social impact blogs, and the author of two books.
Through Be Social Change, Marcos taps into his entrepreneur’s creativity and social good inspiration to help people find and do meaningful work and lead more sustainable lifestyles. Marcos earned a degree from Amherst College and a Masters in Organizational Management and an Executive Leadership Coaching certificate from The George Washington University.
